excerpts from bob's journal...

I thought we would be eating light sandwiches at some small shack somewhere in downtown Soufriere. Instead we drove right through the city, and headed up into the hills. We stopped at a place called Villa Des Pitons. The place was situated on the side of a hill, with a spectacular view of Soufriere, the Pitons, and the Sulpher Springs. The place itself was rather unique, with a small but inviting pool sitting in the middle of the restaurant. The seats were lined along the outside edge, giving us a great view while we ate. We were seated with a couple from Texas. They were both teachers and seemed a little reserved to me.

The food was served buffet style, and appeared to be local fare. There was salad, chicken wings, rice, and some type of stew with lots of bones in it. In general the food was a little messy, but quite good. I snapped lots of shots after finishing my meal. I wanted to make sure I took advantage of the spectacular view, because I really didn't see us coming back to this place again in our lifetime.
