arriving at the beach - greeted by mayflies

the next day we were off to a family get together at east harbor state park on lake erie.
almost as soon as we got out of the car, we were covered with bugs. we soon came to find out that these were mayflies which are totally harmless. while it was nice that they didn't bite, they were still quite a nuisance.
luckily, they seemed to like the area around our car, and not the beach. so after walking a very short distance to the shoreline, things got much better - bug free!
