to listen goto:

if you don't have a MP3 pro equipped player you may notice a reduction in audio quality compared to our previous broadband 56 Kb stream / if you really want to hear our best audio, you will need to download the thompson MP3 pro decoder plugin for your winamp player

if by some chance you don't yet run winamp as your player you can download it at:

http://classic.winamp.com/index.jhtml

with the thompson MP3 pro decoder in your winamp player we sound awesome! to download the free thompson MP3 pro decoder plugin for your winamp player goto:

http://classic.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=99390

easy instructions for installing the thompson MP3 pro plugin for your winamp player:

first click on the link above / now click on the download link / next a "file download" box will pop up / click on save / another box will pop up labeled "save as" / in this box you will need to find and select the winamp folder on your computer / this is usually on your C drive in the programs directory / the plugin will now download to your computer / now goto your programs directory (again usually on your C drive) and find and open the winamp directory / you should see a line that says "mp3PRODecoder" / click on this file / another box will pop up and ask if you want to install it / click yes / the plugin is now installed in your winamp player! you will also see a page of info (read if you so choose) / now open your winamp player and type Ctrl+P / on the left click on "input" under "plugins" / this will bring up a list of all your input plugins for winamp / click on the thompson mp3 pro decoder and click the configure box at the bottom / yet another box will pop up / click OK at the bottom / you are done! enjoy!!

if you  have any trouble downloading or installing the thompson MP3 pro decoder plugin drop us an e mail at:

we will try to help!

one note about the thompson MP3 pro decoder: the neato streaming song titles & artists that usually scroll in the winamp player window do not seem to function with the thompson MP3 pro decoder (i don't know why)/ but to find the titles & artists of the last 10 songs played you can still always goto:

http://www.wolverinedigital.org:8000/played.html

ALSO: anyone in downtown nashua NH can listen to New Hampshire Underground  on 89.3 mHz stereo FM / we run a legal low power feed to provide coverage of the neighborhood (and for listening while dining outside on the deck!) /

how do you do this internet radio stream???

i've had a lot of folks ask this / i'll try to explain in simple terms how it works / first Winamp supplies the "web transmitter" software / it's called a DNAS and it allows me to connect my server in the WolverineDigital studios to the Shoutcast listings page where thousands of other webcasters are also listed and where you can "connect" your computer to our stream by clicking on my listing there or on the link on this web site / but in order to get music out over the DNAS and into your computer we need to generate streaming mp3 music files from thousands of pre recorded and processed tracks that we have stored here at the WolverineDigital studios / this is done by SAM2 by Spacial Audio which is short for Streaming Audio Manager / this amazing piece of software which resides on work station 2 in the studio selects which tracks in our library play / in what order / and how often / in theory i tell it how to behave and but i can tell you that SAM2 often has a mind of it's own! / you all have been very kind and supportive in your e mails and by sending in great original material to put on the stream / this keeps New Hampshire Underground sounding fresh with new tracks being added to SAM2 every month / i do all this on my own time and my own dime but i can tell you it is well worth it /

one final comment: there are huge organizations that are trying to shut down non- profit webcasters like New Hampshire Underground by insisting that "royalties" be paid for every track that is heard by any listener /  the RIAA and Clearchannel see the writing on the wall / their business models are in the same category as buggy whips / the revolution has begun / the genie is out of the bottle gentlemen / "get out of the way if you can't lend a hand for the times they are a' changin" /
