it was sometime monday afternoon that lori got a call from niki. the brook was rising, and she was started to get a little worried. she also got a call from paula, who we rent to.

so i went online to take a closer look at the situation. the national weather service listed the river level at just over 50 feet, and the crest was predlisted at 53.4 feet. no problem... that was 6 feet lower than last year. we might get some water in the yard, but that would be it.

when i left work monday i headed over to take a look first hand. again, no concern. at the end of new york street there was probably somewhere between 6 and 10 feet of saftey. but i was a little less certain when i walked into the back yard. there was probably 3 or 4 feet of safety there before the water would come into the back yard. but even if the water did come up 4 feet, the house was still very safe.
